PROGRAMME, DUTIES AND TRACKED CAREER PATH

Entry

Successful recruits will join the business via Management Development Programme (MDP) Placement.

Placement

The MDP placement is a twelve-month programme where the MDP trainee will spend the first three months experiencing all functions within our business development operations including responding to pre-qualification questionnaires, method statement writing, attending bidders’ days, GIS mapping, project research and client presentations.  After this initial three-month period, the MDP trainee will specialise in the production of quality responses to tenders and service questionnaires.  Within the first 12 months, there will be the opportunity to gain hands-on experience on an idverde contract to develop a better understanding of the business.

Further Progression

At the end of the training year MDP trainees will undergo a review and final progress assessment, part of which will involve production of a final report and presentation to the executive board.

Those MDP trainees who show the necessary ability, motivation and commitment at this stage will be offered permanent positions within the group.

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS and OPPORTUNITIES FOR ASSESSMENT

  1. Performance report from the Business Development Manager during the induction period
  2. Attainment of defined skills milestones during induction period
  3. Tenders submitted
  4. Development of personal, social and presentation skills
  5. Peer reviews and feedback
  • You must have, or expect to gain, good A Levels or a degree related to the role, such as:
    • English
    • Modern Languages
    • Mathematics
    • Chemistry
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Physics
    • Geography
    • Geology
  • Demonstrate previous work experience during your career so far, either as part of an integrated degree course or during vacation periods
  • You must possess excellent written communication skills, be highly numerate and have excellent IT skills, specifically, competence in using Microsoft Word and Excel
